The inspection hole is 76 mm wide, making the entire filter visible through the specially manufactured, extra thick glass pane. This cap is practically unbreakable and designed for lifetime use, unlike the plastic cap with part number 21863984 from Volvo Penta. The "X-ray aluminum" water filter cap replaces all Volvo Penta caps with a diameter of 127 mm and part numbers 21863984 or 842722. The function of the seawater filter is to clean the cooling water from dirt and prevent debris from entering the engine's cooling water channels and causing blockages. With this filter cap, you can easily inspect the filter through the inspection hole at any time. For example, you can check if the circulation works after changing the impeller or see if dirt has gotten into the filter without having to unscrew the cap. How to do it: Unscrew your current cap and remove the black plastic plate. Replace it with the included, specially cut plexiglass panel. Screw on the new cap with the inspection hole.
